Lore & Background

Granolah is one of the few survivors from Planet Cereal, a world destroyed by Frieza's race long ago. His people possessed unique abilities and a strong desire for peace, but they were hunted to extinction. Granolah spent his life training to become powerful enough to exact revenge on every remaining member of that lineage, eventually using the planet's Dragon Balls to enhance his strength beyond Goku's level. The conflict is complicated by Gas, who claims to be the strongest warrior born from Frieza's bloodline. Unlike previous villains seeking conquest for power alone, Gas aims to eliminate Granolah and restore the glory of their race. This sets up a clash where the Z-Fighters must balance stopping a genocidal threat while dealing with a wounded survivor whose anger threatens to consume him. Vegeta undergoes significant development during this arc by training directly under Beerus and Whis. He abandons his reliance on pure muscle strength in favor of Ultra Ego, a state that allows him to grow stronger the more damage he sustains. This marks a philosophical shift for the Saiyan prince, embracing the warrior's instinct over the calm detachment Goku pursues with Ultra Instinct.

Granolah stood atop the cratered ridge, his ears twitching at sounds miles away that others could not hear. He adjusted his cloak, feeling the weight of centuries of loss settle on his shoulders. Far below, the energy signatures of gods flickered like dying stars. He did not need to see them to know they were coming; he could feel their intent in the air. The hunt was over. Now, the reckoning began.

Reader's Guide

The saga begins with Goku and Vegeta receiving a distress call from Jaco, leading them to Planet Cereal. There they meet Granolah, a Namekian survivor whose entire species was wiped out by Frieza's race centuries ago. Driven by vengeance, he uses the planet's Dragon Balls to become stronger than Goku, intending to hunt down every member of the tyrant lineage. Meanwhile, Gas emerges as the leader of the remaining Frieza Force remnants. He seeks to eliminate Granolah and reclaim his father's legacy. Vegeta trains under Beerus and Whis to master a new fighting style focused on taking damage to grow stronger, known as Ultra Ego. Goku struggles to maintain his mastered Ultra Instinct against this relentless foe. The conflict escalates into a galactic battle where the Z-Fighters must stop Gas from destroying Cereal. Granolah sacrifices much of himself in the fight but is ultimately saved by Jaco's intervention after Gas is defeated. This arc concludes with the Frieza Force remnants scattered and Vegeta embracing his Saiyan pride through divine training, setting a new tone for future conflicts.
